The City

We arrived around 11:30pm by train to Prague. It was a 6 hour train ride, but it seemed faster. We rode in a car similar to the one pictured below. We walked around the Wenceslas Square at night. http://www.pragueexperience.com/places.asp?PlaceID=605 Apparently it is a big drag for pimps and prostitutes, and junkies, just looking for British tourists. Many hotels banned British tourists(they act unreasonably stupid drunk). The men come to Prague in small herds, looking for infidelity and drugs and all night boozing. I gather this area in the city is like a sleazy (gonna catch a disease) Vegas for Europeans. However once the sun rises its another story. The tourists swarm the city. Prague is a very old and beautiful city. (the architecture) We managed to hit all of the major tourist attractions on Saturday. Our first stop was the Charles Bridge. The photo below is the Charles bridge, with the Prague castle in the left background. Below is Wenceslas Square.

Above is a Czech flag sculpture. Below is the Opera House lit up at night.

Every time we passed this sculpture everybody gave a little giggle. The guys hips actually turn! You can hear a few ladies (and myself) giggling as well.

Charles Bridge

The Charles Bridge is pedestrian only. I believe this is the top tourist attraction in Prague. There are vendors up and down the side of the bridge selling wares. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Bridge
On each side of the bridge there are statues depicting, well you can click on the link and find out for yourself!! >>

All along the bridge there were local cultural performing artists. Below is a 1 man band (he runs it with a crank handle in the back) The other guy had a skeleton marionette playing Spanish guitar. The best marionette shops were under the bridge.

Under the Charles Bridge there are several Marionette shops. We snapped a few pics of some of our favorites.(on the next blog) I never would of guessed they were so pricy!! A few that we would of wanted cost hundreds to thousands of dollars!!
