Schwarzwald Part 3

Titisee

We drove about 35 km to Titisee. We had a slight road detour. This was the best detour ever! It took us through the heart of the Schwartzwald on a 1 lane road. This road was so small and winding, we were hugging it all through the mountains! We were sandwiched between the rock wall of the road and either a stream or a ravine! AAAHHHHH!! There is a photo with the stream. (the only photo from the drive) Once we arrived in Titisee, we found a room at Hotel Baren. (it was hard to find a room) When we awoke we noticed a bike race was taking place through the center of the town. Once we figured out how to cross the barricade, we went to the lake. You could rent small boats, by the hour and many kids were swimming in the lake. (see means lake)

This is my fav photo of the day (above)

We had a complete Black forest weekend black forest ham, kirsch wine, a slice of black forest cake, and fresh cherries!!
In the afternoon we decided to leave and drive back home. It was a gorgeous drive by the way!! I spotted a fruit stand on the side of the road. they had cherries you could pick off the tree, or by the kilo. We bought some local homemade kirsch wine, and a box of cherries. Oh boy these were the best cherries either one of us has ever had!! There is only 1 type of cherry that is indigenous to the black forest.

lammies!!!
