Schwarzwald

We went to the Black forest (Schwarzwald) for the weekend. Both Marc and I have always wanted to visit. We saw a few towns. The main towns we stopped in were Triberg and Titisee. In Triberg we saw the waterfall, and the largest Cuckoo clock in the world. Titisee is a small tourist town around a lake.

The largest Cuckoo clock in the world also turned out to be the biggest disappointment!! It is as big as a house, but... We waited for 25 min for it to chime. Then nothing happened!!! No ding no dong, no cuckoo, nothing!! At least we weren't the only people to wait around for the big nothing!!! There was another family too. Ha Ha!

This was a shop front with a real working teddy bear theme cuckoo clock.

We also made a visit to the waterfalls in Triberg. This was definitely a highlight of the weekend! It was neat to be able to hike up a mountain in the Black Forest. On our way up they sold a small bag of peanuts. The peanuts were to feed the squirrels on the way to the top of the falls. We just tossed a peanut at a squirrel and he grabbed it and ran away! It was really hard to get a decent shot because it was actually dark in the forest!

This guy below was dressed the part to toot his horn. I am not too sure how good his musical skills are, you decide for yourself!
